Fans of the Disney XD animated series Star vs. the Forces of Evil will be unbelievably excited by the existence of Star and Marco's Guide to Mastering Every Dimension. This new book is totally written by Star and Marco (and Pony Head) and not at all by Amber Benson, Dominic Bisignano, Devin Taylor or Cindy Plourde, so don't even look them up. If you watch this show, or have ever wondered about other dimensions, this is essential reading.
I have to confess that I hadn't seen an entire episode of Star vs. the Forces of Evil when this book magically transported itself to my doorstep via razor crane, but I am kind of glad it found me (and my neighbor's stupid cat). It's really funny, with lots of laugh out loud moments (Pony Head told me to just write "LOL" because everyone knows what that means). But also, it could save your life if you decide to cut out the included Dimensional Scissors and follow the instructions for how to tear a hole in the fabric of space-time.
So now that you've cut a hole in the fabric of space-time, this guide can let you know which dimensions you should visit (The Bounce Lounge!) and which to avoid (Delphinidae). It also gives instructions for how to get back to your home dimension when you're done, and lots of useful information about the monsters and hot wanted criminals like Rasticore.
This book also gives lots of helpful tips and advice to tweens that they can use in any dimension. They examine school and the way it differs here and there, family dynamics, interdimensional relationships, and home living space. That last section includes a thorough examination of Earth toilets and how nobody knows where things go when you flush them down (and also a list of recommended items to try flushing).
If you have your own magic wand, you might find "Star and Glossaryck's Guide to Magic" to be a very useful section. Star basically tore some pages out of her magic book and taped them inside this one to let you see just how confusing magic can be (and just how much Glossaryck wants a burger). And if you're hungry, there's a section devoted to triangular food and a recipe for Marco's nachos.
If your wardrobe needs a little sprucing up, Pony Head has a great section about fashion tips. She knows all about fashion, being a floating horse head without a body to put clothes on, so you should really take her advice. She also has great advice on how to get smoky eyes if you're locked in prison (but you have to be a unicorn to make this work).
I had a lot of fun bouncing around dimensions and getting face kisses from laser puppies and it's all thanks to Star and Marco's Guide to Mastering Every Dimension. If you want to learn how to master all of the dimensions, get some great advice from Star and Marco, or just have a few LOLz, then you need to spend all of your allowance money on this book. Or you could just find a different way to fight boredom by writing your own guide to something.
