Yahooooo!

"Isn't it bright and shiny?"

Yahoo!
Today has been a good day. Today (this column is being written on Monday) LaughingPlace.com was featured as one of Yahoo's weekly picks (http://www.yahoo.com/picks/20000403.html). They wrote:

Mouseketeers, prepare to be blown away. We've stumbled onto the mother of all Disney sites. Truly awe-inspiring, the Laughing Place is an uber nexus of Disney-related news items, trivia facts, insider tips, discussion boards, television highlights, and much more. This week's columns include a piece on a hypothetical all-Disney Oscars, an analysis of the new Disneyland entrance and exit area, and a complete report from Cinderella's 50th Anniversary Royal Celebration. Consider it the ultimate web log for Disney fans.

High praise indeed, and I thank Yahoo for the comments. I'd also like to thank the readers for all they contribute to this site. One of the things I love most about running LaughingPlace.com is I get to read the comments of other Disney fans in the Discussion Boards, Attraction Guides, Online Polls and everywhere else. I really enjoy the community that seems to be developing here.

But most importantly I want to thank the staff of LaughingPlace.com. It's a real joy to work with everyone here and I appreciate all of their efforts. Please take a moment and visit our About Us page to see the list of everyone who helps make LaughingPlace.com what it is.

Psst..Hey Buddy...Want To Trade a Pin?
This website exists because there are some real Disney fanatics in the world (myself included). So I shouldn'tve been surprised to learn that even pin trading would have its issues. The idea behind pin trading seems simple enough - give guests a chance to interact with each other and with Cast Members while having a little fun in the process, and perhaps even get a pin they've always wanted. Of course nothing is that simple when it comes to Disney collectibles. Mind you, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this. Given the right item I'd be pretty fanatical myself. Still, it surprised me to learn some of the things I did. To get an idea of what I mean, read a couple of the topics in the Pin Trading section of the Discussion Boards including How to Deal With Sharks and Pin Trading Out of Hand.

For more information on the pin trading program at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, visit our Pin Trading Guide.

This Week
Before I get to this week's stuff I want to thank Stuart Kuramoto for his wonderful Guest Column last week. His article on stumbling upon the Main Street Electrical Parade at Walt Disney World after loving it so long at Disneyland was one of the most well-received pieces we've published.

This week we're featuring an interview with Alan Thompson, Jr., one half of the duo currently performing four-hand ragtime piano at Coke Corner on Friday and Saturday nights. The other half of that duo is Rod Miller who has been an icon at Coke Corner for over 30 years. On Wednesday look for the latest edition of the Indigo's popular column, Dispatch from Disneyland.

This week's Trivia Contest is all about Disney Funny Stuff and this week's Online Poll asks the question "Which is fyour favorite Walt Disney World resort?"
