There was a big finale, and, much to the delight of those who came in after the show started, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy joined the Toy Story 2 gang in Andy's room, as did the New Buzz Lightyear. Prospector met a fate similar to the mechanics who accompanied Herbie the Love Bug in many Walt Disney World parades. There was a funny added scene with Big Al and two inept airport baggage handlers - some amazing slapstick.

I'd been to see Beauty and the Beast on Ice in Tampa before Alice was born. It was pretty good. The VIP seating makes all the difference in this venue - in your neighborhood venue it might be different, so check and make sure. At San Diego Sports Arena, you get very good character interaction. You don't get anything else with VIP seating, unlike Disney's Broadway shows, so know what to expect. They've got six shows out right now - the website is at http://disneyonice.disney.go.com/disneyonice/index.jsp. If you want to go for regular seating, Entertainment Books have a buy one, get one free coupon.  http://www.entertainment.com

I've been too busy to write for a month or so. I've started teaching again, at a small University in Orange County. I teach at the IT school, but there's also a school of popular culture. I'm in talks right now with the Dean of the school to develop a Theme Park History class. It would be a three-to-four week class, one night a week, with, probably, a Saturday tour of Disneyland and/or Knott's following the classes. The first class would cover the origins of the theme park, the second the golden age of the theme park, and the third would cover modern-day theme parks and the issues surrounding them, and take a peek into the future of the theme park.

The Dean would like to know if there would be any interest in a class like this in Orange County. This might, possibly, be done online as well. Please let me know what you think.
