Unlike in previous versions, computer animation is used extensively here, employing a ‘pop-up book’ style to mask the obvious budget limitations, while totally skipping over such daunting locations as the Himalayas and the Pacific Ocean. The whole film lacks the thrill that such a globetrotting adventure would have; in its place is a cheap, on the make feel to it, as if the actors were trespassing on the sets to some other (better) movie.

The Toon Talk Top 10 - You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!:

Phileas Fogg uses several unique flying contraptions (including that iconic hot-air balloon) to make his journey … and, if necessary, we’re sure he could have borrowed the following flying modes from these Disney films as well:

  1. Model T from The Absent-Minded Professor (1961).
  2. Umbrella from Mary Poppins (1964).
  3. Four-poster bed from Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971).
  4. Zeppelin from The Island at the Top of the World (1974).
  5. Winged superhero costume from Condorman (1981).
  6. Rocket jet pack from The Rocketeer (1991).
  7. Magic carpet from Aladdin (1992).
  8. Broom … or vacuum cleaner from Hocus Pocus (1993).
  9. Reindeer-driven sleigh from The Santa Clause (1994).
  10. Helicopter hat from Inspector Gadget (1999).
