The Headless Horseman
The welcome ceremony ended with the pirate captain making another appearance. He mentioned that no one would want that redhead (a reference to Tim O’Day’s large coiffure of red hair) but that he would probably make a fine cabin boy! The captain invited us outside to witness an unveiling ceremony of a new sculpture. As the unveiling was about to take place, an ominous laugh was heard and we saw the Headless Horseman appear. He rode around the crowd and then disappeared. It was then that the fifth Member’s Only Piece was unveiled. It is a two-piece set of the Headless Horseman on horseback ready to throw his pumpkin head and a frightened Ichabod Crane crouching with his horse!

The evening ended with a visit to Adventureland where we were free to ride the Jungle Cruise and see the Tiki Birds. There were wonderful desserts and beverages available for all to partake as we strolled through Adventureland. Unfortunately, we could only visit the loading area and transfer area of the boats from the unloading to loading area of the Pirates attraction since it was down for rehab. (We wondered if they ever have a Jungle Cruise-themed event whether we could ride Pirates of the Caribbean.) During the Jungle Cruise we had to find hidden pictures to win a chance to destroy the molds for the Wishing Well and Snow White and Prince sculptures which were being retired that night. Each of the winners kept a piece of the molds and their hammer.
