Unlike Paris, whose fireworks are towards the end of the evening, the Magic Kingdom variety is presented at 9:15pm, and the conclusion is the cue for a mass exodus of families, dragging their not-so-sleepy children back to their resorts, in preparation of another day in the parks. Initially, I was disappointed by the show itself, as it unfolds like a normal version of the retired Fantasy in the Sky fireworks. Wishes: A Nighttime Spectacular had debuted the previous evening in the park, and therefore guests were able to compare the previous presentation to the stunning effects and precision timing of the Wishes pyro-show. However, the arrival of the Wicked Witch to hijack the show, heralds an alternative ending, with explosions being released in a 180 degree arc, with Cinderella Castle as its centrepiece, alight in the greens and oranges of the fireworks. Again, the variation from the norm demonstrated the value of the event to guests. The show was stunning to watch on Main Street, especially on such a clear night.
