Pommes Frites

During this visit, the Pommes Frites were brought out first. The delicately spiced traditional French fried potatoes were tossed with Parmesan cheese, garlic and parsley, and served with a small bowl of Cajun spice aioli dipping sauce.

Three-Cheese Monte Cristo

Next up was the Three-Cheese Monte Cristo. The battered and deep fried sandwich was not as heavy as expected, evoking a lighter-than-air toasted cheese sandwich, albeit one carefully prepared with Swiss, mozzarella and double crème Brie. The sandwich is served with berry puree. The Café also features the original Blue Bayou Monte Cristo, along with a PB&J version on the kid’s menu.

Mardi Gras Crab-Salad Sandwich

Also offered was the Mardi Gras Crab-Salad Sandwich. The hearty onion roll was topped with a generous portion of crab salad with garlic, scallion and diced tomato, flavored with citrus aioli and topped with avocado and sliced tomato. Both sandwiches were garnished with fresh fruit.
