A signature event returning this year is the Celebrity Chef Dinners. These special dinners are held on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9pm at the Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian. The cost is $145 per person. Scheduled chefs are: Donna Scala, Bistro Don Giovanni, Napa Valley (April 26); Robert Curry, executive chef, Auberge du Soleil, Napa Valley (May 3); Chef Jamie Gwenn, author, radio and TV personality (May 10); and Guy Fieri, host, Food Network’s “Guy’s Big Bite�? (May 17). Celebrity Chef Dinners require advance registration and payment. Guests can check at the festival Welcome Center, or log on to www.disneyscaliforniafoodandwineweekends.com for information and reservations.

While food is a big part of the festival weekends, wine and spirits are just as important. The Lower Patio of the Golden Vine Winery schedules wine tastings from around noon to five. Participating wineries include Brassfield Estate, Mirrassou, Beaulieu, Provenance, Rosenthal Malibu Estate, Flora Springs, Buena Vista, MacMurray Ranch, and Silverado.

Over at Pacific Wharf, Beer Education and Tasting Seminars are scheduled from 12:45 to 4pm. Karl Strauss offers handcrafted beers, and Sauza Tequila returns for a second year. All these educational seminars are conducted by a noted Winemaker, Master Brewer, or Disneyland Resort Sommelier.

Festival Wine Receptions, a signature event, are offered every Saturday evening from 7:30 to 9pm. For $45, guests will mingle under the stars, sampling various wines and enjoying hors d’oeuvres with fellow wine enthusiasts.

For guests seeking a more intensive introduction to wine tasting, a signature event is offered every Saturday at 2pm in the San Francisco District. For $20, each class offers basic training in the different types of varietals and blends, taste, structure, and characteristics of various wines.

The Pacific Wharf is home of the “Taste of California�? Marketplace. A varied menu of creations exclusive to the festival is paired with various wines. These are all offered at the Lucky Fortune Cookery, and may be enjoyed in the open air setting of the Pacific Wharf. The Marketplace is open from 11am to 7pm each day of the festival.
