From Disney Living…

Disney Living and Mattel give you an inside look at the conception and creation of the all-new, space-themed “toymation” video featuring the Toy Story Buzz Lightyear Command Center and action figures from Mattel. Chris Down, Mattel Designer for Toy Story, and George McClements, Disney Character Artist, reveal the inspiration for the exciting stop-motion short: the imaginations of children!

From broccoli forests to trap-door tricks, real playtime interactions were used to inspire the story of Buzz Lightyear, Woody and sidekick Rex’s epic space battle with the evil Emperor Zurg. See how the toymation video captures the imaginations of children and combines old techniques with new concepts to create a modernly retro animated short sure to inspire Toy Story fans to create their own stories with the new toy line.
