Star Wars: Episode VII Has Started Filming

Alan Horn revealed that Star Wars: Episode VII has already started filming during an interview with THR’s Stephen Galloway at Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television in Los Angeles, as part of the ongoing Hollywood Masters series.

He also revealed that casting is almost complete, but that he could not reveal anything. In his best Yoda voice Horn said, “patience you must have” He also mentioned that casting was the most difficult part of the process.

Horn mentioned that getting the screenplay in place was also a challenge as the film takes place 35 years after Return of the Jedi. He said the screenplay is where it needs to be written by Larry Kasdan and J.J. Abrams from an early draft by Toy Story 3’s Michael Arndt.
