Kristen Chenoweth will play Maleficent in Disney Channel’s upcoming original movie, Descendants. The film is about the children of Disney villains and is being directed by High School Musical’s Kenny Ortega. Liv and Maddie’s Dove Cameron will portray Maleficent’s daughter Mal.
Angelina Jolie will portray the Disney villains in a theatrical film that will be released May 30.
Previously Chenoweth portrayed Rosetta in the first two Tinker Bell films and starred in ABC’s GCB.
Descendants will air on Disney Channel in 2015.
