Maelstrom is Officially Being Turned into Frozen Attraction at Epcot

After months of rumors, Disney is confirming that the Maelstrom attraction at Walt Disney World is turning into a Frozen experience.

Maelstrom originally opened with the Norway Pavilion on July 5, 1988. The last day of the attraction’s operation is reported to be October 4. Disney has confirmed that the new attraction will open in early 2016.

The Norway pavilion will also include a royal greeting location where Anna and Elsa can meet guests.

In addition, Elsa will replace the Fairy Godmother as the character that transforms Cinderella Castle each night during the holiday season.
