WESH is reporting that Walt Disney World has let go of approximately 500 IT workers. While Walt Disney World claims that figure is incorrect, they did confirm that they were restructuring their IT operations. “We are restructuring our global technology organization to support future innovation and new capabilities, and will work with leading technical firms to maintain our existing systems,” Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Wahler said.
The report claims that some of the cast members worked on MyMagic+ as well as other projects.
There is no word if Disney expects any guest-facing changes as a result of the layoffs.
