Cameron Boyce Celebrates Connection to The Clinton 12

BOYCE FAMILY

Disney star Cameron Boyce’s personal connection to “The Clinton 12” — the twelve historical African-American teens who were first to integrate a public school in the South in 1956 — is told in a new installment of the interstitial series “Be Inspired,” premiering today on Disney XD and Disney Channel, in commemoration of Black History Month. Boyce’s grandmother, Jo Ann Allen Boyce, was among “The Clinton 12.”

The “Be Inspired” cameras followed as Cameron, his sister, parents and grandmother make their first visit together to the monument, its 12 life-size sculptures of the students and the Green McAdoo Cultural Center in Clinton, Tennessee.

Boyce commented, “My Nana is part of ‘The Clinton 12’; I’ve always known she is incredible and now, everyone else will know too.”

The “Be Inspired” segments are made for kids age 6-14 and their families.

Cameron stars in the Disney XD series Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything and in Disney Channel’s hit movie Descendants (2015’s #1 cable TV telecast among Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 and its #1 cable TV movie in Total Viewers) and previously, its hit series Jessie (a Top 9 series among Kids 9-14 in 2015).
