Although passengers aboard the Disney Fantasy were scheduled to visit Castaway Cay — Disney’s private island in the Carribean — today, it has been announced that the ship will instead head back to port after one of its engines stopped functioning properly.

According to the Disney Cruise Line Blog. the Fantasy seems to be moving a bit slower than normal (about 17 knots compared to the typical 22 knots). Castaway Cay would have been the last stop before returning to Port Canaveral and guests were informed that the stop was being skipped to ensure an on-time arrival.

Inconvenienced travels will apparently be offered 20% off future Disney Cruises as well as $200 in credit to be used on the ship

Some travelers aboard the ship have tweeted about the situation:

DCL Blog also reports that, as of now, there is no scheduled delay for the next Fantasy Cruise departing on February 6th.
