Florida Congressman Suggests Making the Washington DC Metro More Like WDW Monorail System

Politicians really can’t get enough of Disney this week. The latest example of this comes from Flordian Congressman Daniel Webster who recently said that the Washington D.C. Metro should be more like the magical monorails found in his home district. According to the Washingtonian, Webster, who sits on the House Transportation Committee, recently touted the monorail at Walt Disney World as an example of what efficient mass transit system looks like. Webster said, “We have one rail system in my district. It’s at Disney World, and in 38 years I have never seen it break down, and it moves millions of people too. Make it more like the Disney monorail.”

Washington D.C.’s Metro rail system has endured a number of issues lately causing major delays for commuters in our nation’s capital. Of course, we’d also be remiss not to point out that, despite the Congressman’s claims, Disney’s monorail system has experienced its own fair share of issues in the past.

Disney has seemed to pop up in a number of political issues and incidents in the past week including TSA lines, VA wait times, and the “rigged economy.” What will the company be likened to next?
