Trump Invokes “Frozen” as Storm Over Controversial Tweet Rages On

Tonight, the presumptive nominees for the Republican and Democratic nominations for President both referenced something unexpected on Twitter: the Disney animated hit Frozen. This started when Donald Trump shared an image a coloring book featuring Anna and Elsa on the cover. Notable to Trump’s case, there is also a six-sided star with the text: “With 50 Stickers!”

Trump has been embroiled in controversy regarding a tweet he sent out earlier this week that featured a similar star which many said was intended to be the Star of David. As a result, the original tweet (which Trump later deleted, amended, and reposted) has been called an anti-Semitic “dog whistle” — a charge Trump refutes with his Frozen tweet:

Seeing an opportunity, Secretary Hillary Clinton then retweeted Trump’s post, but added a reference to one of the songs from the film (while alleging that Trump’s argument amounted to a logical fallacy):

It should be noted that the Frozen image in question did not originate with the Trump campaign. In fact, the photo has been circulating on forums such as Reddit throughout the day. At this time it’s unclear when and where the photo was taken or if it could possibly even be doctored in some way.

UPDATE: It appears that the image is legitimate and that the coloring book in question is available on Amazon. The book was released on January 1st of this year, but reviews that refer to the star on the cover only began posting yesterday:
