To further capitalize on ESPN’s alignment with The Walt Disney Company, Donoghue’s efforts will be tightly coordinated and integrated with Disney’s Corporate Strategy team in Burbank overseen by Kevin Mayer, senior executive vice president and chief strategy officer.

Mayer said: “I’ve worked extensively with Marie and her team, and she has become an invaluable colleague and essentially one of my team. I’m thrilled about both expanding her role and continuing to strengthen the connection between our corporate team and ESPN.”

Skipper said: “In this role Marie will continue to bring benefits to both the corporate strategy team and ESPN.  I look forward to working closely with her and my senior management team as we continue to evolve our business.”

Donoghue will continue to report to Skipper and continue to also oversee ESPN’s business affairs, business development and strategy group along with FiveThirtyEight and The Undefeated.
