Disneyland to Relocate Security Checkpoints

According to the OC Register, the Disneyland Resort will be moving their security checkpoints by the end of the year. As we alluded to back in September, security screenings will be added to the Mickey and Friends parking structure for guests to go through before boarding trams or walking to Downtown Disney. Additionally, checkpoints will go up near the ESPN Zone and Earl of Sandwich for guests parking at Downtown Disney or coming from the Disneyland or Paradise Pier Hotels.

Not only does this change mean more security for Downtown Disney but could also be a plus for guests as well. For example, guests can now leave the parks for a meal in Downtown Disney and return without having to go through screening again.

At this time, the security checkpoint on the other side of the esplanade that services the transportation hub will not be moved. However, that hub is scheduled to be relocated with the addition of the resort’s new parking structure in 2018.
