Review: Smuggler’s Bounty Empire Strikes Back Box

I just received the latest Smuggler’s Bounty box from the folks at Funko. This box’s theme was The Empire Strikes Back. I thought I would share what is inside so those that do not subscribe can get an idea of what is typically included.

The box always includes a patch and a pin. This month, the patch features Yoda while the pin showcases Lando Calrissian.

The apparel item this month was the first “Pop! Socks” These “Empire Socks Back” feature Pop style heads of a Stormtrooper and Darth Vader. These thin socks are made of a comfortable material and are easy to wear.

The plush Wampa is a bean bag plush with embroidered eyes and mouth with a plastic nose. The description of the plush includes the fun fact that in early scripts and storyboards for The Empire Strikes Back portrayed the Wampa tunneling through the snow to sneak uo on Luke Skywalker.

The big ticket item in this both is the Hoth Han Solo with Tauntaun Vinyl Bobble-Head figure. The bobble Han sits on top of the large tauntaun who rests upon a base. This is one of the largest figures, if not the largest, that I have ever received in any of the Funko boxes.

Overall, I enjoyed the box. The large scale of the figure, while also receiving additional items made the box feel like a good value.

Next month’s theme is Disney XD’s Star Wars Rebels SmugglersBounty.com which will include a Darth Maul Pop! Vinyl. For more information, visit
