Even though it all started with a mouse, that mouse has never had a ride of his own. That’s set to change as a new attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The announcement came at a D23 Expo panel today. The new ride will apparently feature tech developed for this purpose and has been describes as “two and a half D” with no glasses required. Sadly, the ride will replace the Great Movie Ride, which will close on August 13.
AT D23 EXPO 2017, DISNEY PARKS CHAIRMAN BOB CHAPEK ANNOUNCES NEW MICKEY AND MINNIE’S RUNAWAY RAILWAY -- During D23 Expo 2017, Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek announces Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. The attraction will be the first ever Mickey-themed ride-through attraction, with a new original story and lovable attraction theme song.
