Holiday spirit and festive feelings abounded at  L.A. Live and the Staples Center on Wednesday, December 15, as the newest Disney On Ice: show, “Let’s Celebrate!,” glided into the Southland for its Los Angeles red carpet celebrity premiere. Partnering with Starlight Children’s Foundation and AEG’s Season of Giving, Disney on Ice hosted a pre-show skating event at L.A. Kings Holiday Ice.

Following a week filled with typically warm L.A. weather, a crisp chill in the air brought an added touch of winter to the outdoor skating rink, providing the perfect venue to whip up a little holiday cheer.

A mini, holiday-themed sneak peek performance from “Let’s Celebrate!” took place outside, enchanting spectators and making guests even more eager as they were then welcomed out onto the ice themselves. It was magic in motion as over 90 members of the Starlight Children’s Foundation skated alongside some of their favorite Disney characters and celebrities. What child (and let’s face it - what adult, really?) wouldn’t be thrilled to add “ice skating with Mickey Mouse” to their cherished holiday memories?

The celebrities on hand with their families were no less immune to the magic of the season - or the mouse - whether it was watching the faces of their own children light up with excitement as they navigated the slippery surface, or young Disney channel stars eliciting smiles on the faces of those even younger who couldn’t believe their luck to be sharing an evening with them.

As the skating wound down, guests repaired to the San Manuel Club of the Staples Center across the street for a VIP reception in order to decorate holiday stockings to be auctioned off for charity.

From there it was into the arena to join the crowd awaiting L.A.’s premiere performance of “Disney on Ice: Let’s Celebrate!,” produced by Feld Entertainment. The well-paced variety-style show, themed to numerous holidays and cultural celebrations around the globe, held the all-ages audience in its spell from start to finish. Children and adults alike hurrahed and interacted throughout, though the biggest cheer of the night was given to the arrival of the characters from the “Toy Story” films as they were delivered as Christmas toys to the ice during the “Winter Holiday” segment.

The show was a perfect ending to a fun-filled holiday evening. Back in the parking garage, we noted that even after a long night full of activity, children of celebrities and members of the Starlight Children’s Foundation were still raring to go - talking about the show with a spring in their step. If the smiles still on their faces (and ours) were any indication, this is a show not to be missed. If you’re looking for something this season to share that the whole family will enjoy, “Let’s Celebrate!” would be a perfect addition to your holiday plans.

“Disney on Ice: Let’s Celebrate!” plays at the Honda Center in Anaheim through Dec. 26,  the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario from Dec. 29 through Jan. 2, and finishes its local run at the Long Beach Arena Jan. 5 through Jan. 9. Tickets range from $16 to $65.
