Disney Cruise Line adds a seven day cruise
Disney Cruise Line Announces New Seven-day Cruise Vacation
Beginning August 12, 2000, Disney Cruise Line will offer guests a new, seven-day eastern Caribbean cruise vacation that combines a Disney cruise experience with the exotic ports of St. Maarten and St. Thomas, with excursions to St. John as well as Castaway Cay, Disney's private Bahamian island. Guests will be able to begin booking the new cruise on December 15, 1999 with prices starting at $829.
The Disney Magic will depart on its new seven-day itinerary each Saturday from Port Canaveral, Fla. The itinerary is as follows:
- Saturday Depart from Port Canaveral
- Sunday At Sea
- Monday At Sea
- Tuesday St. Maarten
- Wednesday St. Thomas, with excursions to St. John
- Thursday At Sea
- Friday Castaway Cay
- Saturday Return to Port Canaveral
In addition, new programming, activities, entertainment and shore excursions will be specifically designed for this seven-day itinerary.
"Built on our success in creating a unique Disney shipboard experience, the new seven-day cruise vacation will address the number one request we receive from our guests -- more of that great cruise experience," said Matt Ouimet, president of Disney Cruise Line. "Add the variety of a new set of ports to discover, and now Disney Cruise Line offers great cruise vacations for three and four days to The Bahamas and seven days to the eastern Caribbean, plus seven-day land and sea vacations that combine a stay at the Walt Disney World Resort with a Disney cruise. All Disney cruises will continue to feature Broadway-style stage shows, quality children's programming, unique dining options and a call at Castaway Cay, our very own private island paradise."
"This itinerary delivers our guests to the doorstep of the most highly rated eastern Caribbean destinations," said Ouimet. "St. Maarten, St. Thomas and St. John are popular with travelers worldwide for their excellent beaches, recreation, shopping and excursions."
Disney Cruise Line also will include Freeport in the Disney Wonder four-day itinerary, effective August 2000. Freeport will take the place of a day at sea every other week.
This is the third vacation available on the Disney Cruise Line. In addition to the new seven-day eastern Caribbean itinerary offered on the Disney Magic, the Disney Wonder combines a three- or four-day visit to the Walt Disney World Resort with a three- or four-day cruise to The Bahamas. Three- and four-day cruise-only packages also are available.
