Kmart Scares Up Fun With Disney/Pixar's 'Monsters, Inc.'
Kmart Stores Feature Exclusive Product and Pepsi-Cola/Frito-Lay Promotions
It's always best to check under the bed! The Monsters are coming ... to Kmart stores everywhere. Kmart Corporation is supporting Walt Disney Pictures' release of Pixar's new film, "Monsters, Inc." with exclusive products and frightfully fun in- store promotions with Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay, Inc. "Monsters, Inc." will be released in theaters nationwide on November 2, 2001.
Toys, Apparel and More
Kmart is the only location to scare up all the best "Monsters, Inc." merchandise. The fun starts with a Kmart exclusive -- the Mike Wazowski and Sulley Two Pack ($9.99), which features the movie's two heroes as loveable plush dolls. Another sure-fire hit for the holidays is Wise-Cracking Mike ($19.88). Pull his arm and listen as this one-eyed monster spouts funny phrases straight from the movie.
To help kids look the part of a monster, Kmart also carries a full line of "Monsters, Inc." apparel from stylish knit hats and caps ($4.99 -$9.99) for boys and girls, to cozy pajama sets ($14.99-$16.99). To transform any bedroom into a monster's lair, Kmart has sheet sets, comforters and plush pillows featuring the movie's motley crew.
Monster-Size Promotions
Kmart, Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay are giving consumers a chance to catch "Monsters, Inc." fever in stores nationwide through two promotions. Beginning October 21, Kmart stores will display a towering life-size Sulley standee, perfect for any bedroom. Every store will conduct a drawing for one lucky winner to take Sulley home (one per store).
Also on October 21, Kmart's famous BlueLight Special will be bluer than ever, when Kmart and Frito-Lay give consumers a real taste of "Monsters, Inc." Beginning at noon that day, and running every hour until 3 p.m., the BlueLight Special will feature customer samplings of the new Doritos 3D's "Monster Colorz" snacks. These delicious taste treats actually turn your tongue blue when you eat them -- the same color as Sulley's fur!
