LPWire: Hasbro Announces The Incredibles Figures and Toys
Hasbro Delivers Unbelievable Superhero-Sized Fun With ‘The Incredibles’ Figures And Toys
Disney/Pixar’s The Incredibles is sure to be one of the biggest animated feature films of the 2004 holiday season. With Hasbro’s action figure and toy line, kids can recreate all the hilarious antics and rescue attempts by Bob Parr (aka Mr. Incredible), his family and the whole crew of exaggerated, over-the-top, retired super heroes and villains.
Even ex-super heroes need to escape their mundane jobs and everyday family lives. When danger calls, they can’t resist! Mr. Incredible, voiced by Craig T. Nelson, squeezes into his superhero outfit, tells his wife there’s no time for dinner, and…it’s show time!
The Hasbro line, which is recommended for ages 4 and up unless otherwise noted, is expected to be available in October.
Highlights include:
The Incredible Mr. Incredible
the incredible Mr. Incredible action figure’s real-feel skin and voice capabilities will make it seem like you have a genuine crime-fighting sidekick. Just push down on his belt buckle to hear him say signature phrases while his mouth actually opens and closes. Push a little harder and watch his chest flex out and hear him shout! (approximate retail price: $24.99)
Hero Changin’ Incredobile
The Hero Changin’ Incredobile vehicle looks like it came speeding right off of the movie screen! In the what-seems-to-be-ordinary car mode, you can find the mild-mannered Bob Parr behind the wheel. Once a distress signal has been sent, a push on the front hood changes the vehicle into the Incredobile and replaces bob with his crime-fighting personality Mr. Incredible! When changed into super hero mode, the Hero Changin’ Incredobile’s rear thruster and front air intake pop up and the headlights open to expose projectile launchers. (approximate retail price: $19.99)
5-inch Deluxe Action Figure Packs
The action is non-stop with The Incredibles deluxe action figure packs, which include one of five figures from the film. Each comes with a signature feature action movement and accessory such as super strength Mr. Incredible. No one is stronger than Mr. Incredible, and just like in the movie, kids can recreate his ability to pick up and throw anything, no matter the size or weight. Not to be outdone, Mr. Incredible’s smooth-character superhero friend, ice action frozone, shoots “ice? from his hands and comes with his very own ice board that kids can use to send him gliding into action. No child superhero can smoke the competition in a running race like Dash, whose deluxe figure is so quick on his feet that all you see is a puff of “smoke? behind him as kids roll him along. Also available are Punch n’ Rescue Mr. Incredible and the diabolical villain, Syndrome. (approximate retail price: $9.99)
Omnidroid
The ultimate battle and rescue scene in the movie involves Mr. Incredible and the other superheroes who take on the fierce, five-legged, robotic creature called the Omnidroid . Kids will love recreating this pivotal movie scene and testing their own skills with the electronic Omnidroid , which stands over 10 inches high with spider-like walking limbs spanning about 12 inches in diameter. Simply turn on the Omnidroid to begin the battle, and it begins to bumble across the floor while its menacing red eye searches for its “victim.? Using an arm laser, the player is challenged to hit the red eye of the omnidroid when it flashes on. Kids test their timing and coordination by defeating the moving Omnidroid before running out of laser shots. Subsequent rounds of the competition become even more challenging as the red eye of the Omnidroid flashes faster, and requires more hits to be defeated. A taunting, maniacal laugh is the response from the Omnidroid when the player runs out of laser shots before defeating the creature. (approximate retail price: $29.99)
Wrestling buddies
Kids will love to release a little energy with these talking plush wrestling buddies. They are perfect for a little rough-and-tumble play action, letting kids use their own pretend super powers to create daring defeats and rescues with Mr. Incredible, Dash or Syndrome. (approximate retail price: $19.99)
