Glow Fest, the unexpected hit of the Disneyland Resort's Summer Nightastic! has entered its second week. Larger and larger crowds have been drawn to Glow Fests's combination of dance, spectacle, and nighttime party atmosphere.
Glow Fest begins in the Sunshine Plaza at 6pm with a performance by a dance troupe. (Different dance groups are promised throughout the summer.) The initial offering is a Bollywood-style revue. As dusk approaches, the resident Glow Dancers take the stage to perform the "Drumming Down the Sun" ritual. After the sun has set, the party moves on to Hollywood Boulevard. Colorful pylons, large scale projections and driving music sets the scene for a high energy, outdoor dance party.
Food and drink are provided at outdoor locations, in addition to existing outlets. Guests have discovered that in certain locations their own projections, digitally altered and brightly colored, are cast onto the walls.
Glow Fest will continue through the end of the Summer Nightastic promotion at the Disneyland Resort.
