Giant “Mick-O-Lantern�? exclusively revealed to media
Just one more day before the official celebrations begin!

Disney’s Halloween lit up Hong Kong Disneyland for the very first time this evening, with special Halloween happenings including a giant Jack-O-Lantern exclusively revealed to media and their friends.

The Magical Media Preview included a special advance glimpse of the “Mick-O-Lantern�? which features the familiar smiling face of Mickey Mouse superimposed on a giant Jack-O-Lantern with two pumpkins forming his famous ears.

An all new “happily haunted�? parade float wound its way through the park as part of the Halloween Costume Mini-Parade which will be a daily treat during Disney’s month-long Halloween celebrations.

Some of Disney’s most notorious villains, including Cruella De Vil, Jafar and Captain Hook have temporarily taken over the Opera House where they will meet and greet guests daring enough to enter the “Villains’ Lair�?.

And for guests who want to make multiple visits throughout the month to fully experience all that Disney’s Halloween Party has to offer, there’s even better news. Hong Kong Disneyland announced yesterday the launch of its Annual Pass, which offers greater flexibility and convenience for guests eager to enjoy year-round magic at the theme park.

“We are excited to be joining our fellow Disneyland sister parks in continuing the longstanding tradition of Disney’s Halloween,�? said Susan Chan, Director of Publicity, Hong Kong Disneyland.

“We are thrilled that the media and their friends can join us today to delight in the family-friendly fun and fantasy that this special season has to offer.�?

The Halloween happenings will be available to guests from September 30 through October 31, 2006, and are included with regular admission to Hong Kong Disneyland theme park.

Other spooky activities for guests during Disney’s Halloween include night-time special lighting effects at Main Street U.S.A., Halloween-themed decorations spookily scattered throughout the park, special Halloween menus and merchandise. Available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as well as on October 30 and 31 are the opportunities to trick-or-treat around the park with “Mickey’s Halloween Treat�? and “Kids’ Zones�?, where kids can create Halloween-themed crafts.

Halloween Costume Mini-Parade

The new parade float is a work of apparitional art, with Mickey and his pals perched atop a grim-grinning-ghost graveyard scene. Giant Jack-O-Lanterns and pumpkins are peppered about as a bewitching tree stands watch over the rickety fence-surrounded scene.

Tombstones in the graveyard are inscribed with witticisms inspired by Disney’s “Haunted Mansion�? film and attraction. Using a special design technique, a tombstone-lined path on the float winds its way up a steep hill to a three-story haunted house perched at the peak.

Spooky lighting and other special effects complete the spellbinding scene which will be featured in the mini-parade.

Guests are welcome to join Mickey Mouse and the gang in the dress-up fun during Disney’s Halloween celebration and can star in the daily “mini-parade�? which will wind its way through the park, led by an all-new, “happily haunted�? float.
