And while downtown Los Angeles doesn't offer the Walt Disney Story, Phoenix does share the story of Christine Sterling, the "Mother" of Olvera Street. It was she who envisioned a themed environment celebrating the early days of Southern California's own "Magic Kingdom." (3)

On Main Street one finds lavish plantings, patriotic displays, and buildings that hearken back to a time of fine craftsmanship and solid virtues. (5)
