New Bluebird Caf‚ Series at Disney Institute Showcases Nashville's Best Songwriters

The Disney Institute is bringing the spirit of the Nashville‚ to Walt Disney World Resort in a new performance series of musical showcases by Nashville's best songwriters. Produced in collaboration with Nashville's Bluebird Caf‚, these "Writer's Nights" take place monthly in the Disney Institute Performance Center. Following each concert, the songwriters also take part in special chat sessions with guests in The Gathering Place, the new piano, coffee and cordial lounge located adjacent to Seasons Restaurant at Disney Institute.

For years, Nashville's famed Bluebird Caf‚ has embodied the spirit of country music by featuring nightly performances by those who truly bring each tune to life -- the songwriters. Small in size but large in history, the intimate surroundings have been the birthplace of many of country music's greatest hits and hitmakers.

"Disney Institute is a place that celebrates creativity and the arts and they have been nice enough to invite us down here to share these original songs and fun," says Amy Kurland, owner of the Bluebird Caf‚ in Nashville. "If you hear a song at the Disney Institute that you have heard on the radio, these are the songwriters who wrote it!"

Songwriters featured in upcoming Bluebird Caf‚ Series "In the Round" performances include:

  • Nov. 20: Fred Knobloch, Don Schlitz and Tom Schuyler
  • Dec. 11: Karen Staley, Ashley Cleveland and Tricia Walker
  • Jan. 29: Richard Leigh, Mark Beeson and James Dean Hicks
  • Feb. 19: Steve Seskin, Allen Shamblin and Angela Kaset;
  • March 18: Paul Williams, Jon Vezner and Gene Nelson.
