Disney appoints new Senior VP of Global Category Development

Dolman Named Sr. VP. Global Category Development, for Disney Consumer Products

Harry Dolman has been promoted to senior vice president, Global Category Development, at Disney Consumer Products, it was announced today by Stephen de Kanter, president of Global Merchandise Licensing for Disney Consumer Products.

In his new role, Dolman will develop category and product strategies and direct product development for the home furnishings, stationery, personal care and food categories; manage global licensee relationships; partner with regional licensing business heads to assure consistency of regional and local licensee relationships; and build a global category team.

"Harry has provided superb leadership for our streamlining process in Europe, the Middle East and Africa," de Kanter said. "He has a keen understanding of both the Disney brand and what it takes to make that brand successful in the world marketplace."

Dolman most recently served as vice president of Merchandise for Disney Consumer Products Europe, Middle East & Africa, where he provided leadership and strategic direction to the regional merchandise business and began the process of rationalizing the European licensee base.

During his eight years in the region for Consumer Products, Dolman shifted the business from a country-driven model to a category-driven structure and was the driving force behind the pan-European Licensing model, such as the agreement between Disney and Nestle.

Before joining Disney, Dolman spent four years at Nutricia N.V., a Netherlands-based producer of baby and clinical nutrition products, in the logistics and retail sales functions.

Dolman, a Dutch National, is married and holds a Masters in logistics from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and an MBA from Insead in France.
