VIBE Live 2000! Turns Up the Heat At Downtown Disney Pleasure Island for Black Music Month
More than 15 Urban Hitmakers Perform June 8-10
The ultimate combination of top-name R&B and Hip-Hop artists perform at Downtown Disney Pleasure Island during VIBE Live 2000! -- an annual celebration of Black Music Month at Walt Disney World Resort. The three-day music-fest, June 8-10, headlines multi- platinum R&B, soul and hip-hop artists including Tyrese, Blaque, Mobb Deep, Kevon Edmonds, The Roots and Li'l Kim. For some "old school" flavor, rap star Doug E. Fresh turns out rhymes and beats guaranteed to move the body, and passionate balladeer Teena Marie gets to the core of relationships with her greatest hits. Teena Marie is also set to receive the 2000 VIBE Props award.
VIBE Magazine and Pleasure Island joined five years ago to produce what has become the world's most popular Black Music Month celebration.
"The pages of our magazine come to life in celebration of Black Music Month at VIBE Live 2000!" says Emil Wilbekin, editor-in-chief of VIBE Magazine. "Over the last five years, the VIBE Live stage has been shared by Puff Daddy and the Family, Eric Benet, Destiny's Child and the O'Jays, among others. This year's stellar line-up with performances by Lil' Kim, Donell Jones and Teena Marie is sure to keep the momentum going strong."

Pleasure Island opens its doors nightly at 7 p.m. with live performances scheduled on both the Hub and West End stages. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.

Pleasure Island is Walt Disney World Resort's nighttime entertainment venue featuring the energy and excitement of eight unique clubs including BET SoundStage Club, an outdoor street party, live entertainment and a New Year's Eve celebration with confetti and fireworks every night! Pleasure Island is part of the Downtown Disney district of entertainment, shopping and world- class dining.
