BIC Announces the Launch of a Disney Character Writing Instrument Collection

BIC today announced the debut of a Disney-inspired writing instrument line featuring America's favorite characters -- Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Tigger and Pooh, too. The line, which will be available to consumers early next year, also features other Disney classic characters such as Cinderella and Snow White.

According to BIC Product Manager Janel Olsen, this new collection represents an exciting collaboration between two well-recognized brands. "Consumers have always known both Disney and BIC for their quality and strong brand heritage," she said. "BIC's new product line allows us to tap Disney's entertainment value for truly unique products consumers will love."

BIC's new Disney line of products will include ball pens, mechanical pencils and novelty pens and pencils.

Disney character writing instruments will have expanded availability to consumers who will now be able to purchase them at food, drug, and mass retailers. BIC's extensive distribution network will bring these products to Disney fans throughout North and South America and Mexico. Distribution in Europe is scheduled for later next year.

Olsen said the new line will appeal to true Disney fans. "These products will also make great gifts for friends and family, or they can simply be an affordable indulgence for everyday use."

The Disney character writing instrument line is one of the most exciting launches in history for BIC, according to Olsen. "It's a perfect opportunity to capitalize on the strength of the Disney name and the brand recognition consumers already hold for BIC products," she said. "This launch is also a strong reminder to consumers that BIC products are fun and unique -- appealing to kids, teens, mom, dads, grandparents, young and old."

The new collection will be revealed November 15 at the 2000 International School, Home & Office Products Association (SHOPA) Show in Miami Beach, Fla.
