Premiere Episode to Air October 5 on Disney Channel at 8:45 p.m.; Toon Disney Slates Four-Episode 'Marathon' October 6, 7:00-9:00 p.m.

One of the best-reviewed kids' television series of the new season gets primetime treatment this week as Disney Channel and Toon Disney offer special airings of "Disney's Teacher's Pet." "Teacher's Pet" regularly airs within "Disney's One Saturday Morning" on ABC.

The premiere episode of the acclaimed animated series will air on Disney Channel this Thursday, October 5 at 8:45 p.m. ET/PT. On Friday, October 6, Toon Disney will spotlight "Disney's Teacher's Pet" with a four-episode "marathon" from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Produced by Walt Disney Television Animation, "Disney's Teacher's Pet" is the tale of a boy and his dog, "Spot" -- a talking canine that yearns for the education afforded his master. As voiced by Tony Award-winning actor Nathan Lane, Spot disguises himself as a boy in order to attend school and, as the title suggests, becomes the teacher's pet. Packed with Saturday morning humor, "Teacher's Pet" is designated as children's educational and informational programming.

"Teacher's Pet" has been lauded by critics across the country. The Hollywood Reporter stated the series "crackles with wit" and "dazzles the eye"; the Minneapolis Star Tribune said "Teacher's Pet" was "smart, funny" and the series "transcends the generation gap"; the Los Angeles Times called it "visually mind-blowing" and summed up its review in true canine compliment: "it's a howl."
