Randall Baumberger Promoted to Senior Vice President of Disney Regional Entertainment
Randall Baumberger has been promoted to senior vice president of Disney Regional Entertainment, it was announced Thursday, April 19 by Paul Pressler, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
Baumberger, 34, oversees ESPN Zone, a sports-themed dining and entertainment venue with locations in Atlanta; Anaheim, Calif.; Baltimore; Chicago; New York; and Washington D.C., as well as DisneyQuest Chicago.
Baumberger is also responsible for the continued growth of ESPN Zone, including two new sites scheduled to open later this year at Las Vegas' New York/New York Hotel and Casino in July and a location in Denver opening in December.
"This promotion recognizes Randall's success in managing the growth of these businesses, particularly his success in establishing ESPN Zone as a strong national brand,'' said Pressler.
Baumberger joined Disney in 1999 as vice president and general manager of ESPN Zone.
In summer 2000, he assumed responsibility for DisneyQuest, becoming vice president and general manager of Disney Regional Entertainment.
Prior to this, Baumberger was senior vice president, West Coast Operations, for GES Exposition Services, a leader in the tradeshow and events marketing industry. Baumberger is also a former executive of Taco Bell, where he spent seven years in various leadership positions, including senior director of Franchise Business Development for Western U.S./Taco Bell Express. Taco Bell and Taco Bell Express are subsidiaries of Tricon Global Restaurants.
Baumberger holds a bachelor's degree in humanities from the University of California, Irvine, and a master's degree in business administration from California State University, Fullerton. Baumberger serves as founder and president of the youth charity group Y.E.A.H. (Youth Exposure to Arts and Humanities).
