Nationwide Opening Slated for June 15th
Moviegoers in New York and Los Angeles will have a unique opportunity to see Walt Disney Pictures' animated action-adventure feature "Atlantis: The Lost Empire,'' when it opens on June 8th exclusively at two theatres: Clearview Cinemas Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City and Hollywood's historic El Capitan Theatre, it was announced Tuesday, May 1st by Richard Cook, chairman of the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group. "Atlantis: The Lost Empire'' opens nationwide on June 15th.
Commenting on the announcement, Cook said, ``There is a great sense of anticipation for 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire,' a film that takes Disney animation in an all-new direction, and we wanted to share it with audiences as soon as we could. The Ziegfeld and the El Capitan are fabulous venues for a classic-style action-adventure like 'Atlantis.' We're proud that these two legendary movie palaces will be the exclusive home to our latest animation achievement prior to its nationwide opening on June 15th.''
