Eric Hollreiser Named Senior Vice President, Media Relations for ABC Cable Networks Group

Eric Hollreiser has been named Senior Vice President, Media Relations for ABC Cable Networks Group, it was announced today by Anne M. Sweeney, President, ABC Cable Networks Group and President Disney Channel Worldwide.

"ABC Cable Networks Group has grown larger than the sum of our parts and Eric will help increase awareness and understanding of the Group and differentiate our networks among our media audiences," Sweeney said. "Eric has a diverse background on both sides of the media - as a reporter and a public relations executive - and brings to us his strengths in strategic planning, media relations and corporate communications."

Hollreiser will direct all public relations activities for the wholly owned, worldwide properties of the group including Disney Channel, Toon Disney, SoapNet and the recently announced Playhouse Disney. He will manage the department responsible for all network relations, strategic publicity and long-term planning on behalf of the group's sales, marketing, programming and affiliate relations divisions.

"In an increasingly crowded entertainment marketplace, ABC Cable Networks Group has the management expertise, creative resources and unique programs and networks to continue to be a leader," Hollreiser said. "I'm delighted to join the Group at the nexus of the most exciting developments in the entertainment industry: technological innovation; the creative explosion in cable television programming and the continued convergence of media."

Most recently, Hollreiser served as vice president of Tierney Communications, a Philadelphia-based advertising and public relations agency where he specialized in media relations strategy, corporate communications and crisis communications for such companies as Disney Regional Entertainment, ABC Inc., Deloitte Consulting, American Express, FastShip and Exelon. Before joining Tierney, Hollreiser was a successful journalist with national magazines including Rolling Stone, Spy and New York, and an award-winning business reporter for daily and weekly publications in New York, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, including Adweek, Brandweek, and Philadelphia Business Journal.
