Disney and AAA Renew Alliance Through 2007
Disney and AAA Renew Alliance Through 2007
Two of the strongest brands in the travel industry - Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and AAA - have solidified their participant agreement through 2007. The Disney-AAA alliance historically has been a catalyst for millions of dollars in AAA club revenue and member savings and values since its inception in January 1997.
"The new agreement has been extended for six years due to the continuous success of this relationship," said Betsy Sell, managing director, AAA Travel Services. "This is a significant alliance - AAA and Disney are two preeminent brands that are among the best-known names in the travel industry."
"We're thrilled that this renewed alliance will enable us to fully leverage the incredible momentum that's been generated during the first term of our agreement," said Randy A. Garfield, CTC, executive vice president of sales and travel operations for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, and president of the Walt Disney Travel Company. "AAA is a very valued participant for Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line, and I anticipate continued strong growth for our product line over the next several years."
Through the agreement, AAA members receive exclusive benefits with Disney vacation packages and special discounts on lodging, while AAA clubs receive increased revenue opportunities through sales of AAA Vacations and Disney Cruise Line products, as well as extensive marketing support.
A sampling of what the Disney alliance means to AAA travel professionals is evident in recent sales figures and projected member savings initiatives. Over the past five years, AAA Club sales through AAA Vacations operated by The Walt Disney Travel Company increased 101 percent. AAA members have also reaped the benefits, saving millions of dollars through Disney's resort hotel discount programs and member benefits since 1997.
