Disney Imagineering's "Ultimate Ride Coaster Deluxe'' For PC Creates Bigger and Better Roller Coasters With New Environments, Themes, Tracks, Missions and Coaster Pieces

Fully Revised Render Engine Produces Even Greater Photo-Realistic 3D Action

Disney Imagineering's "Ultimate Ride Coaster Deluxe" for PC, Disney Interactive's follow-up to last year's breakthrough roller coaster simulation, launches nationwide April 2. Combining original content with expanded features and a fully revised render engine, the title comes packed with new tools that can create bigger and better real-time, photo-realistic 3D roller coaster action than ever before.

"Ultimate Ride Coaster Deluxe" allows players, ages nine and up, to build spectacular rides with a plethora of new features: two track types, four environments, five coaster pieces and four themes. Users who compete in Imagineering Mode strive to successfully complete 26 new missions, out of 50 total, that present challenges based on specific criteria that the coaster must feature. In Build Mode, players' coaster aspirations can be limitless, just as long as their design adheres to the laws of physics.

The fun and excitement of roller coaster creation is even more exhilarating with extraordinary visual and audio effects produced by a fully revised render engine and sound design. Lens flares, shadows, reflections, fog and low hanging clouds add realism to images, while authentic sound effects contribute to the nail-biting suspense. Players can even record and add personalized audio, such as screams, to their rides.

"Ultimate Ride Coaster Deluxe" introduces two new track types, standing and flying, into its lineup of traditional wooden, steel and hanging tracks. Standing cars let two riders stand upright, side by side. Flying cars place two riders side by side so they ride the coaster parallel to the ground. All tracks can be constructed in four fresh environments: canyon, island, neo-grid or fields.

Players can build a wide variety of coasters with five new track pieces, out of 13 total, which they can further customize with interesting and fun themes, including Gothic, Amusement Park and Island. Gothic sets the stage for a hair-raising experience with tombstones, ghosts and a haunted house. Amusement Park delivers a real-word theme park feel with Ferris wheels and popcorn stands, while Island features tropical-themed items, fantasy creatures and a tiki god.

Once completed, players can become a part of the ever-growing coaster community established by the Ultimate Ride Web site at www.ultimateridegame.com and compete for Rollergod status. More than 100,000 coasters have been uploaded to the site, which receives more than 8,000 visitors a day, via the Ultimate Ride coasterXchange. Fans can experience and rank one another's creations, as well as post questions and comments to the title's design team and to each other on the site's message board. Site visitors can also find new product information, check out interviews with the game's designers and view coaster-building instructional videos. And for players who can't wait to share their roller coaster creations with family and friends, they can send them via email in a flash.

Disney Imagineering's "Ultimate Ride Coaster Deluxe" is compatible with Windows(R) 95 through XP PC systems and requires a Pentium II 333 MHz or faster processor, 32 MB of RAM, 64 MB of free hard disk space, a 16-bit sound card and an 8 MB video card, both DirectX 8.0-compatible. The title has a suggested retail price of $19.99.
