Disneyland® Resort Earns Ten Awards for Dining Excellence From Southern California Restaurant Writers
The Disneyland Resort recently received ten awards for dining excellence during 2001 from the Southern California Restaurant Writers (SCRW), the greatest number of awards the Resort has ever received from the organization. Among the honors, Bobby Gonzales of Granville's Steak House was singled out for personal recognition in being named the 2001 Maitre d' of the Year.
The group of epicurean journalists held its 28th annual ceremonies on Sunday, February 24 to recognize outstanding dining establishments throughout Southern California.
The following awards were presented to the Disneyland Resort:
- Bobby Gonzales was honored as 2001 Maitre d' of the Year for his professional excellence at Granville's Steak House in the Disneyland Hotel.
- Napa Rose, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel® - Gold Award, Contemporary Category, and a Golden Bacchus Award for restaurants having the finest wine lists and service.
- Granville's Steak House, Disneyland Hotel - Gold Award, American Category, and a Wine Excellence Award for restaurants having notable wine lists and service.
- Yamabuki, Disney's Paradise Piersm Hotel- Gold Award, Japanese Category.
- ABC Soap Opera Bistro, Disney's California Adventure™ park - Sterling Silver Award, Contemporary Category
- Disney's PCH Grill, Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel - Sterling Silver Award, Contemporary Category.
- Hook's Pointe & Wine Cellar, Disneyland Hotel - Sterling Silver Award, American Category.
- Blue Bayou Restaurant, Disneyland park - Silver Award, American Category.
The members of SCRW visit many restaurants throughout the year and evaluate each experience based on food, service, ambiance, value and beverage selection.
