Attila Gazdag has been promoted to managing director of the Walt Disney Internet Group's (WDIG) European operations. In this capacity, Gazdag will manage all aspects of WDIG's European operations, which encompass subscription content services, including advanced broadband-based and mobile distribution applications, and Internet sites in 15 markets.

Previously, Gazdag was WDIG's vice president of international business development with responsibility for European, Asian-Pacific and South American markets. He will be stationed out of WDIG's London offices.

"Attila has played an instrumental role in building our international business," said Mark Handler, WDIG's EVP and Managing Director, International. "He is well suited to lead the division, with a strong background not only with Disney, but within the larger European entertainment and new media industries. This promotion is well deserved and we look forward to his leadership and contribution in further expanding our business into the broadband and wireless arena."

Prior to joining WDIG in 2001, Gazdag held senior international and domestic business development positions at a number of top entertainment companies, including Universal, E! Entertainment and Cinergi Pictures.

Gazdag holds an MBA from The Wharton School and an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
