Disneyland® Resort Brings Daily Holiday Cheer and Season's Greetings November 7 Through January 4

The Disneyland Resort is filled with holiday cheer from November 7, 2003 through January 4, 2004 as it magically transforms into “The Merriest Place on Earth” with a jolly array of entertainment and décor.

Yuletide fun comes to Disneyland park with the spooky but silly “Haunted Mansion Holiday” attraction; nightly fireworks capped by an amazing snowfall; the “it’s a small world holiday” attraction; and “A Christmas Fantasy” parade that begins daily performances on November 21.

Disney’s California Adventure™ park has its own lineup of festivities, including a new show and play area themed to Brother Bear, Disney’s new animated feature film for the holidays; hundreds of decorations throughout the park; “Playhouse Disney – Live on Stage!;” and a host of kid-sized attractions in “a bug’s land.”

The “Haunted Mansion Holiday” is a Disneyland highlight featuring a hilarious, madcap mix of Halloween and Christmas. Inspired by Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas, it makes a spirited return this year with a new game show element and finale courtesy of dirty trickster Oogie Boogie. The attraction is open daily from October 3 through January 4.

Creating a nighttime spectacle in the sky is “Believe… In Holiday Magic,” a special version of the park’s popular fireworks choreographed to a medley of Christmas tunes. The show concludes with a magical snowfall along Main Street, Small World Mall and New Orleans Square. In Fantasyland, the “it’s a small world holiday” attraction creates a merry twist on the classic ride, depicting holiday celebrations around the world, with a “Jingle Bells” musical soundtrack and more than 300,000 twinkling lights adorning the exterior of the attraction and mall area.

Making its season debut on November 21 will be “A Christmas Fantasy” parade, presented daily on Main Street, U.S.A. The park’s traditional holiday pageant showcases the marching toy soldiers, wintry vignettes with the Disney characters including Mickey and Minnie skating on an ice rink, dancing snowmen and Santa Claus joined by his team of friendly reindeer.

Many of the park’s theme lands are decked out with scores of wreaths, colorful lights and other decorations. Main Street is covered with garland and highlighted by a 60-foot-tall Christmas tree; New Orleans Square offers a Southern-style Yuletide celebration; Mickey’s Toontown is trimmed with wacky, oversized adornments; and Frontierland is brightened with rustic, handcrafted decorations.

On New Year’s Eve, Disneyland will extend its operating hours and present a special midnight fireworks spectacular in the skies above Sleeping Beauty Castle to ring in 2004.

Disney’s California Adventure offers an enticing lineup of shows and attractions for kids and their families during the holidays, including a newly themed interactive show inspired by the new Disney animated feature Brother Bear. In this wilderness setting, guests experience a woodland play area, visit a mystical cave inhabited by animal spirits of the forest and enjoy the new “Magic of Brother Bear” show where guests can laugh, be a bear and listen to a humorous tale of brotherhood. The show opens November 1.

Seasonal décor throughout the park includes a 30-foot-tall Christmas tree in Hollywood Pictures Backlot; garland, wreathes and lights strung along the park’s Golden Gate Bridge; hanging lanterns in the Pacific Wharf; and golden ornaments, banners and wreathes in the Golden State area.

Disney’s California Adventure also showcases “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular,” a new generation of theme park entertainment based on the popular Disney animated film, Aladdin. This awe-inspiring musical is performed several times daily in the Hyperion Theater. In addition, the ever-popular “Disney’s Electrical Parade,” a procession of nearly a half-million twinkling lights on three-dimensional parade units, is presented on weekends and on many other dates throughout the season.

The park also presents daily performances of “Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage!” in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot starring the beloved cast of characters from Disney Channel. Another popular feature is the whimsical “a bug’s land” inspired by the Disney/Pixar animated feature A Bug’s Life, a region completely abuzz with the excitement of attractions created for kids from a bug’s point of view.

The Disneyland Resort’s three hotels – Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel®, Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Piersm Hotel – plus the Downtown Disney® District, will also join in the holiday festivities with twinkling lights, special entertainment and Yuletide dining experiences.

The Resort is also celebrating the season with a special Fall & Holiday GetAway vacation offer. Walt Disney Travel Company packages feature two free days of Park admission and a fourth night free at participating Disneyland Resort Hotels and Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotels.
