Exclusive Event with Disney Book Group’s 'Tale Spinners' With Radio Disney at the Union Square Barnes & Noble Harry Potter Midnight Magic Costume Party on July 20
Barnes & Noble, Inc., the world’s largest bookseller, together with Disney Publishing Worldwide, the world's largest publisher of children’s books and magazines, will present “Tale Spinners�? with Radio Disney, an exclusive event featuring Disney Book Group’s bestselling children’s fantasy authors, at the Harry Potter “Midnight Magic�? party on Friday, July 20, at the Barnes & Noble Union Square store (33 East 17th Street at Union Square) in Manhattan. The five hours of live entertainment will feature appearances, discussions, and signings by favorite Disney authors including:
- Dave Barry (via video) and Ridley Pearson, co-authors of The New York Times bestselling prequels to Peter Pan, Peter and the Starcatchers and Peter and the Shadow Thieves, as well as the upcoming final book in the trilogy, Peter and the Secret of Rundoon.
- Eoin Colfer (via video), author of the multi-million selling global phenomenon “Artemis Fowl�? series as well as the upcoming Artemis Fowl: The Graphic Novel.

Barnes & Noble will kick off the celebration of the seventh and final book in the J.K. Rowling series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, at 5PM. Jim Dale, Narrator Of Harry Potter Audiobooks, Also To Appear
The night’s festivities will continue with Jim Dale, the acclaimed British actor responsible for bringing to life all the Harry Potter characters in the series’ audiobooks. Dale will discuss how he became the narrator of the audiobooks, how he creates the characters’ voices and read excerpts from previous Harry Potter books. Then, with seconds to spare, he will lead the crowd in the magical countdown to midnight when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows goes on sale.
As part of its Harry Potter “Midnight Magic�? celebrations on Friday, July 20, Barnes & Noble stores nationwide will remain open late on July 20 and sell Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at the stroke of midnight.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will sell for $20.99, 40 percent off the list price of $34.99. Barnes & Noble Members can buy the book for $18.89, a savings of 46 percent. The deluxe edition and compact disc and audiocassettes for the unabridged book will also be available.
