Tales from the Laughing Place Issue #13 coming in late October

(October 13, 2008) Today Tales from the Laughing Place Magazine announced the contents for their thirteenth issue that is due for release at the end of October. Issue 13 will focus on the twenty-fifth anniversary of Tokyo Disneyland and two of Disney Theatricals� creative and commercial successes.

�In the past two issues Tales from the Laughing Place Magazine has focused on the development of two of Walt Disney World�s theme parks namely Epcot in Issue 11 and Disney�s Animal Kingdom in Issue 12. For this latest issue we have decided to focus our attentions on the first international Disney park to be built � Tokyo Disneyland,� Tales publisher Lee J MacDonald begins. �In fact we have so much artwork, photography and stories to share that we have spread the Tokyo Disneyland coverage over the next two issues. Issue 13 will focus on the current developments at the park with an interview with the architect team at Walt Disney Imagineering that have built the incredible new Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and Joe Lanzisero talks about the inclusion of Stitch into a third generation Enchanted Tiki Room that has recently opened at Tokyo Disneyland. In addition we have a photo-essay of Steven Davison�s Jubilation! parade that was created especially for the anniversary. The centrepiece of Issue 14 will be an extensive round robin interview with some of the talented imagineers that developed the park peppered with never-before-seen artwork and photography from the Walt Disney Imagineering archives.�

Issue 13 of Tales from the Laughing Place Magazine will also take a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of High School Musical On Stage through interviews with the cast and creative principals of the London show and exclusive photography from the rehearsals. The musical theme is continued with a fascinating insight into the South African heritage of Disney�s The Lion King with original cast member (and educator on African and world history, musicology and Afrocentricity) Ron Kunene in celebration of the Broadway musical�s tenth anniversary. The triumvirate of musical-related articles is completed with a retrospective interview with Academy Award- and Grammy Award-winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz who discusses his fifteen year association with Disney from Pocahontas to Hunchback of Notre Dame to Enchanted.

Also Tales has been granted an exclusive interview with Chairman, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Jay Rasulo who discusses Disney�s current international ventures, the effect of the economy on the Company�s domestic operations and the division�s future. Finally legendary animator and sculptor Ruben Procopio talks with Rhett Wickham about his work on features such as The Black Cauldron and The Great Mouse Detective and his family connections to the Walt Disney Company. The intimate tale also features images from Ruben�s own personal collection.
