I�ve been a regular moviegoer at the AMC Downtown Disney 24 (formerly AMC Pleasure Island 24) since I moved to Florida in 2004 and have been very happy to see the improvements made over the years. First, they expanded their concession to include pizza (a must for this vegetarian moviegoer). Then they made all of their screens digital. Recently they added two ETX screens - not quite IMAX but still very large with great sound. And of course, the Concession Stand of the Future with more than 100 types of Coke products to choose from, many more food options including mozzarella sticks, scooped ice cream, a full bar and much, much, much more. But the most exciting news was the announcement that several of the screens would be converted to Dine-In Theatre Fork & Screen theaters - a concept they�ve had at a few other theatres around the country that allows guests to order and eat a table service meal right from their movie seat before and during the film. I go to a lot of movies and I eat a lot of food - to say I was excited would be to understate the case.

What exactly is a Dine-In Theatre Fork & Screen? Here�s the process:

• Purchase your tickets. Whether purchasing online or at the box office the seats are assigned (either by the system or you can choose). Ticket prices range from $6 to $13 depending on the date and time. All theaters are digital and 3D movies are presented as well.
• Arrive at the theater. If you�re early you can have a drink at MacGuffins Bar and Lounge. Once the theater is ready you can take your pre-assigned seat and shortly a server will be there. You can order well before the film or wait and order just before or even during the film.
• The server will take your order and deliver your food just like at any restaurant. Courses will be brought separately and drinks will be refilled. Appetizers, entrees and desserts are available as well as a full bar, popcorn and typical concession food.
• Food is served on a table directly in front of the seat. Seats are grouped into 4 with one long table serving all 4 seats.
• The server will check on you regularly but you can also press a call button on your table to request them. Additional items can be ordered throughout the film.
• Towards the end of the film your bill will be brought and you pay your server. Like any restaurant, a gratuity should be given.
• Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Dine-In Theatres opened to the public in mid-May. I�ve had the opportunity to experience it about five times since then. Here are my impressions.
