In recognition of the many emergency services personnel whom you represent, we present you now with a very special statuette. This statuette was inspired by the original painting “Mickey and Firefighter�? by the Disney artist Disney Boyer. We present these to you as representatives of our state’s thousands of firefighters and emergency personnel. And with these statuettes comes our heartfelt thanks to all of you, and our heartfelt thanks to your colleagues as well, especially for all the invaluable work you do every day. In addition, I’m delighted to announce that the Disneyland Resort has partnered with many of our state agencies to present Disney’s Wildfire Heroes Salute to honor all of you and your families throughout the entire state.

This evening there’s one family we especially wanted to honor and remember. And it’s a great privilege to have them join us. They are the proud family of engineer Steven L. Rucker of the Novato Fire Protection District. A true California hero who gave his life to protect and save others. Please welcome Mrs. Steven Rucker ... along with Weslie and Kerstin.
