X interjects "Yes, the graveyard, Buddy had all these tracks, a great cacophony, you couldn’t hear anything. Buddy began to take this out, take that out pretty soon from the 40 tracks, we had 6 tracks…You could hear the lyrics as you went by"

Buddy explained, "In the ballroom sequence...At first I had this grand organ…playing Grim Grinning Ghosts…Since it needed to be more fun, less serious…after this organist played it really well, I called up another organist and I said play this tune but almost play it, play the wrong chords all the way through it. And it worked.”  O'Day asks, "Rolly didn't you tell me a story that Yale Gracey saw a real ghost?" "You know we sat around and talked, read ghost stories," Rolly replied. He continues, "So I asked have you encountered anything unusual along ghost lines. Yale said, 'Oh yeah..' It's kind of an interesting story and I've never heard anyone as good as this one. And Yale wouldn't lie he was too straight an arrow. When he was 8 years old he along with his parents went back east to visit some cousins...They spent the summer there...When they were getting ready to leave his dad said, 'what did you enjoy about your stay here'. He answered ' the old lady who lives in the closet and reads to us every night.'"  At this point Rolly starts waving his arms explaining that the other children were motioning to Yale to stop saying she won't come back. Yale's response was one of surprise. According to Rolly, "He thought it was a common thing that everyone knew about the lady who lived in the closet, and came out and read to them every night. The mother was shocked and the other kids just kind of admitted that there was this old lady that came out and read to them and lived in the closet.   And of course she never came back again. But from what I gather Yale said that his aunt went to the local town and did some research on who had owned the house, who built the house and actually found a photograph of the woman who lived there. She showed it to the kids and they said 'yep'...That's one of the best ghost stories I've ever heard."
