As I mentioned, in 2002, Ray handed leadership of Disneyland Park Custodial to longtime Custodial manager Mike Sweeney, who had been concentrating on opening and establishing the Custodial operations at DCA. Mike's time also reaches back to the Boyajian era. Ray turned his concentration to DCA. Thus, Mike became the third person to lead Disneyland Custodial. At this retirement event, Ray announced that Mary Cobb would become the first woman to lead Disneyland Custodial. Mary was good to me during my time, and she's a great choice for the job. Shes one of those people who sticks in my mind as a quintessential model of the pleasant demeanor of a Disneyland cast member. Other women who have long been, and continue to remain, great pillars within Custodial operations at the Resort are Marci and Charlene.

Ray was given some great gifts. Here are some more.

Ray gets the title of "Disneylander" which is what Cast Members called themselves in the early days. The document is signed by Dick Nunis, Marty Sklar, Jon Storbeck, Ron Dominguez, Jack Lindquist, Jim Cora, and Greg Emmer familiar names to Disneyland and theme park operations enthusiasts.

Remember these trash receptacles from the early days of Disneyland, brought back to the Sleeping Beauty Castle area for the 50th Anniversary?

Well, one was specially fitted for Ray's porch.

Nice! Imagine what THAT would cost as a limited edition collectible.
