Mary Poppins Returns World Premiere

On Thursday night, the stars of Mary Poppins Returns enjoyed the world premiere of the film. And to make things even more special, fans were welcomed to join in the fun on the red carpet with Disney’s livestream of the evening.  From interviews with Emily Blunt (Mary Poppins) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Jack) to the charming young actor who play the Banks children, this evening was purely magical. Plus, after the premiere, critics were able to share their first impressions of the film on social media.

Gran Destino Tower Opens for Reservations, Announces New Restaurants

This Tuesday, reservations opened for Gran Destino Tower at the Coronado Springs Resort. The new tower will open this summer and will feature two unique restaurants, Three Bridges Bar & Grill and Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood, which will be located at the top of the Gran Destino Tower. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort serves as an oasis set on the shore of Lago Dorado in an elegant location that celebrates the daring spirit of the great Spanish explorers, artists, writers and architects.

Audi Announces Partnership With Disney to Create New Media Type

It would appear that Disney’s reach and partnerships truly know no bounds. This week Roadshow reported on a new collaboration between the Mouse House and German auto maker, Audi. The two companies are reportedly working on a “new media type” unlike anything we’ve ever seen. What’s will it be for? The inevitable Autonomous vehicles of the future.

Star Wars Debuts New Kids Website and Shorts Series

Star Wars announced they were launching a new website and YouTube Channel geared towards kids. Both feature unique and fun content surrounding the characters and storylines of the original trilogy. Best of all a new shorts series Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures also premiered on both platforms. The first six episodes are all available now with more coming throughout 2019.

Toy Story-inspired Hotel Coming to Tokyo Disney Resort

The Oriental Land Company announced this week plans to open a Toy Story-inspired hotel at the Tokyo Disney Resort. Although there are several good neighbor hotels surrounding the resort, this Toy Story themed hotel will be the fourth OLC-owned company on property. Rooms are reported to be themed to Andy’s bedroom and be “designed with colorful furniture and other immersive features inspired by the world of Toy Story.”

Lin-Manuel Miranda receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The multi-talented actor was honored on Friday afternoon. Guest speakers included “Weird Al” Yankovic and Rita Moreno.

Tom Hanks reportedly in early talks for live-action Pinocchio. As Disney continues on its live-action remake kick, Pinocchio is the latest to be considered for an update. According to Deadline, Tom Hanks is being considered for the role of Geppetto.

Walt Disney World updates Epcot’s FriendShip transportation schedule. Due to construction for the Disney Skyliner, FriendShip transportation will be suspended nightly starting at 9:30 pm. The new schedule will continue through late December.

Netflix Cancels Daredevil After 3 Seasons. Following the cancellation of Iron Fist and Luke Cage, Daredevil was also not renewed a for another season. Netflix has said the show will continue to be available on streaming service for years to come.

Artemis Fowl teaser trailer debuts. Based on the young adult book series of the same name, Artemis Fowl is coming to the big screen next summer in a film is directed by Kenneth Branagh. Our own Bill shared this thoughts on the first teaser as well as his first impressions.

Hawaiian language Moana to be distributed in schools. The animated Disney film has been re-recorded in the Hawaiian language and will shown to children all throughout the state. Moana voice actress, Auli’i Cravalho helped to share the news with excited fans.
