Tasooji Becomes Senior Vice President, CIO, At The Walt Disney Company

Michael Tasooji has been promoted to senior vice president and chief information officer of The Walt Disney Company, it was announced today by Thomas Staggs, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Tasooji formerly was senior vice president, information services, for Walt Disney Attractions.

In his new position, Tasooji assumes overall responsibility for Disney's information systems and technology resources on a worldwide basis. He will play a central role in building and maintaining Disney's IT infrastructure and e-business capabilities to best facilitate Disney's continued growth.

"Michael is a highly capable technologist as well as an astute business executive," said Staggs. "He understands the critical role technology infrastructure and information systems play in the operation of the company's business and their potential impact on Disney's growth and success. He has consistently demonstrated his broad strategic vision and an ability to develop sophisticated solutions to complex business problems. I am extremely pleased to have him in this important role."

Tasooji joined Disney as vice president of information services at Disneyland in 1995. There, he developed the information services strategic plan for the anticipated opening in 2001 of Disney's California Adventure theme park, hotel, dining, entertainment and retail complex.

Last January, he became senior vice president of information services for Walt Disney Attractions. He was responsible for developing information systems strategy and planning for the company's theme parks and resorts, cruise ships, regional entertainment venues--ESPN ZONE and DisneyQuest--and Walt Disney Imagineering, while continuing his responsibilities at Disneyland.

Before joining Disney, he was vice president of information services for Bergen Brunswig Corp. Earlier, he held information technology positions with Getty Oil Company and Columbia Pictures.

A native of Iran, Tasooji, 43, holds B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Southern California. He and his wife, Linda, have three children and live in Newport Beach.
