The Disneyland Resort has announced that March 12 will mark the debut of Fantasy Faire, a new addition to Fantasyland. The area is themed to resemble a small village square, located in the former Carnation Plaza Gardens. It will replace the present Fantasy Faire, located behind Fantasyland across from the entrance to Toontown.

Two major venues will be found in Fantasy Faire: Royal Hall and the Royal Theatre. In Royal Hall, guests will enter a richly ornamented structure to experience a private meeting with up to four of Disney’s Princesses. The Royal Theatre, formerly the bandstand, will initially host one of two storytelling productions, featuring either Belle or Rapunzel. The hosts are a pair of vaudeville-style Renaissance storytellers, who will encourage audience members to join in on the fun.

A gift shop, Fairytale Treasures, will be found between the Royal Theatre and the existing entryway to Frontierland. A food cart, Maurice’s Treats, will offer bread twists (cheddar cheese garlic, chocolate or strawberry, along with a signature beverage, the Boysen Apple Freeze. The Freeze will be available in an exclusive decorated goblet or mug.

Guests wandering the architecturally diverse area will come upon a few surprises. Pinocchio’s cat, Figaro, will be found dozing (and occasionally waking) on a windowsill. The intricate Clopin’s Music box will invite visitors to interact and witness its mechanical wonders. The centerpiece of Fantasy Faire will be Rapunzel’s Tower, a sculpted column designed to resemble the home of Disney’s newest princess.
